Exciting news! The line-up for our Midsummer Festival musicians is confirmed, and it’s looking like another great year of Music with good sounds, vibes, moves, and hopefully rain-free weather!
SATURDAY 21st JUNE PERFORMERS
11.30 am Smuggler Jack – a five-piece band playing self-penned numbers and foot-tapping covers in a repertoire that spans blues, jazz, rock, and a hint of soul.
12.15 pm Mark Stevens – bearded singer/songwriter Mark Stevens from Peterborough evokes the sunny climes of California, backed by country riffs straight out of Nashville, played on his acoustic guitar and sung with a voice reminiscent of John Mayer or Damien Rice. @Markstevensmusician
1.15 pm Les Potton – Based in Castle Bytham, Les has played in bands since he was 16. His band The Face were part of the mod revival in 1979/80 and debuted supporting Paul Jones (Manfred Mann) and The Blues Band at the Bridge House in Canning Town. They performed at prestigious venues: The Music Machine (now Koko), Moonlight Club, and Hastings Pier Ballroom. The Face reformed in 2014 and have supported From the Jam (Bruce Foxton), The Vapors (Turning Japanese). The Members (Sound of the Suburbs) and Secret Affair (Time for Action). Les will be performing songs from the ’60s to the present.
2.15 pm Pennyless – Penny Stevens on violin, Les Woods on guitar playing a special sound that is distinctly English, cooking up lively, quirky and downright mystical songs from folklore, medieval history and their own musical minds and bringing in a Bluegrass and Old Timey American feel with pacey instrumentals, Celtic traditional tunes and a diverse mix of off-the-beaten-track cover versions! http://pennyless-music.co.uk
3.30 pm Hurricane Moon – To celebrate Neil Young’s headline set at Glastonbury, Hurricane Moon come to Castle Bytham to evoke the sprawling classic era of Neil Young & Crazy Horse. The 4-piece will carve out a suite of epic grunge anthems, including Like a Hurricane, Cortez the Killer, Powderfinger, Down by the River, Southern Man, Ohio, and Rockin’ in the Freeworld.
5 pm Clarksdale Contract – Are an entertaining live band playing a mixture of covers across the blues, roots rock and soul genres of the past 60 years. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063855300761
6.30 pm Bad Bayou – Andy and Richard from Smokestack Blues Band with their new offshoot, playing country blues and swampy southern rock. https://www.facebook.com/smokestackbluesband
8 pm Idle Hands – Are a 5-piece band from the East Midlands covering your favourite indie, rock, and pop tunes, with both male and female lead singers. @idlehandsbanduk
9.30 Latino Sounds – Are a vibrant 3-5 piece Latin band based in Peterborough, serving up a sizzling mix of Latin Funk, Latin Jazz, and Fusion. @Latino sounds

11.00 am Route 66 – We are a Stamford-based school band that has expanded to 4 members this year. The Festival will be our first live performance together, allowing us to combine our preferred musical styles.
11.30 am Infrared – A rock and pop band from Stamford made up of four members: Rose on piano, Toby and Millie on guitar, and Arthur on drums.
We’ve previously been seen at various summer events with school, and we’re excited to get back on stage. We’ve been playing together for a few years and we perform a mix of rock and pop covers, including tracks like The Chain and Hard Times
12.15 pm Dinosaurs
1.30 pm Rutland Big Band – classic big-band line-up of horns featuring both male and female vocalists playing swing and Glen Miller sounds. The band is led by the charismatic Marcus Reynolds who has many years playing in and running big bands as well as being well-known as a solo artist. www.rutlandbigband.org.uk
